Some of you are probably wondering what this is.
The story behind the idea is that my family, in an effort to have fun and be a little bit healthier, decided to have our own Wall Fitness Challenge. We made goals for how fit we want to be and we are all supporting and pushing each other to make our goals. I thought why just be healthier? Why not start my own spiritual fitness challenge. I want to improve all aspects of my life, I want to be a spiritual athlete.
I am a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This challenge is open to anyone that would like to join regardless of their faith. I am going to be getting my initial goals from a program my church has called Personal Progress (very fitting I think). It focuses on 8 main values;
Faith
Divine Nature
Individual Worth
Knowledge
Choice & Accountability
Good Works
Integrity
&
Virtue
Each of these values has what are called "value experiences" these VE consist of scriptures, talks, documents, etc (and sometimes a combination) to read. Then record your thoughts and feelings about.
Once I am done with the VE portion of each value I will be doing a Value Project to help me put into action the lessons learned from each VE. The project will take about 10+ hours and may require the help of some volunteers.
I completed this program as a young woman growing up in my church however I did not appreciate it the way I should have. So I am going to do the program over again, and do it right this time.
